Payroll SME / Payroll Lead – US Payroll Specialist – Hyderabad

Job Summary

We are hiring experienced Payroll Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Payroll Leads to oversee and manage end‑to‑end US payroll operations. These roles require strong expertise in payroll compliance, governance, audits, and team management. Candidates must have 6–12 years of payroll experience in a BPO, HRO, or shared services environment, with excellent communication skills to interact with US clients and employees.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Payroll SME:
    • Act as subject matter expert for payroll processes and escalations.
    • Handle complex payroll scenarios and issue resolution.
    • Drive payroll audits, approvals, and governance.
    • Support process improvement and automation initiatives.
    • Mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Payroll Lead:
    • Lead end‑to‑end payroll operations across US geographies.
    • Manage team performance, capacity, and productivity.
    • Ensure SLA adherence and compliance.
    • Act as escalation point for critical issues.
    • Drive automation and transformation initiatives.
    • Coordinate with clients, auditors, and stakeholders.
    • Ensure accurate payroll accounting and reporting.

Education Qualification Required

  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance/HR).
  • Payroll certifications (CPP, FPC preferred).

Experience Requirements

  • Payroll SME: 6–10 years of payroll experience.
  • Payroll Lead: 8–12 years of payroll experience with team handling.

Targeted Candidates

  • Payroll professionals with no major career gaps.
  • Candidates with excellent communication skills to pass initial screening.
  • Professionals with strong voice support skills and ability to work in night shifts.
  • Candidates with strict background verification compliance (no abscondment in past).

Mandatory Background Verification Documents

Candidates must provide:

  • All marksheets and education certificates.
  • Aadhaar card and PAN card.
  • Service history records / PF history.
  • Last 3 months’ payslips.
  • No abscondment in past employment.

Interview Mode

  • Initial voice screening for communication skills.
  • Technical interview on payroll processes and compliance.
  • HR round for background verification and document check.

CTC (Compensation)

CTC upto 9 LPA For SME and 10.5 LPA for Payroll Lead

Location

Hyderabad (primary recruitment hub).

Communication & Voice Skills (Mandatory)

  • Excellent spoken English with a neutral/global accent.

  • Ability to explain payroll calculations and discrepancies clearly.
